Browser Security

There are always going to be security exploits within browsers but to minimise the amount of unwanted rubbish such as adware, malware and Trojans you can use Mozilla Firefox and the following extensions. Firefox is stable and highly customisable and most importantly it is well known for being securer than IE.

NoScript

NoScript is a java, javascript and flash blocker that disables all scripts from running until you enable them. When enabled they are added to your white-list so that the next time you open that particular site it remembers the settings. This is also true if you forbid a site, which would be added to a blacklist.

Adblock Plus

AdBlock Plus blocks unwanted banners and ads. If you use a filter subscription it will block it automatically

McAfee Site Advisor

Mcafee Site Advisor uses a traffic light system to rate websites. Red is bad, green is good and yellow is proceed with caution. Works within popular search engines, such as Google and Yahoo and also displays a bar at the bottom of your browser for individual websites.

KeyScrambler

KeyScrambler encrypts your keystrokes to protect information from keyloggers. This also works within Flock and IE.

Dont forget to use these along side your firewall, anti-virus and malware protection software for better all round protection.
