I have been using Comodo Internet Security since it’s initial release and it just keeps getting better and better. However whilst trying to install the most recent version 4.0 which was released on March 03 2010 I encountered an installation error 1603. Naturally I cleared all the junk files, disabled unnecessary services, cleared the registry and still couldn’t get it to work

Welcome to Speed up vista part 2.  This section is also relevant to those that have XP. Just a recap we have speeded up our system so far by turning off system services that are not needed. In this section we will look at other ways to speed up your computer covering cleaning the registry, temporary files, startup entries and defragmentation.

Windows Vista may dive bombed since it was released in 2007 but for those have you that have it it may run slower than you want. First and foremost Vista looks beautiful but underneath those good looks it is also using a great deal of system resources. If you are not interested in the pretty looks or you are on a machine that is using less than 2 GB of RAM it is wise to turn it off which would improve your system performance vastly. There are other services than run unnecessarily which are safe to be turned off which help improve the performance of your computer.
