I would like to announce the release of the WOW-Twitter WordPress plugin. Loosely based on the post WordPress – Display your Cached Tweets using PHP and OAuth it features a widget, optional shortcode, optional badge, backup and debugging feature. Version 1.1 now includes an automatic update via GitHub from within the WordPress dashboard.
WordPress is the most popular used blogging/CMS software which is why I guess it is used by millions of websites around the world. Unfortunately, there are some very bad people out there that will try their hardest to exploit any weaknesses in your blog. If you look through your logs you can guarantee that someone, or something, like bots, for example, has tried to gain access to your site by attempting to access your login page, registration page or even your forgotten password page. Of course, you can never completely eradicate the bad boys but with a good knowledge of WordPress security can help you protect your site as much as possible.
jQuery is one of the most used frameworks there is and it is renowned for being simple, flexible and easy to learn. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of plugins to choose from. Here are a few plugins that I have previously used or would definitely use in the future. I hope you enjoy them!
Now that I am a twitterer I have decided to integrate Twitter into my WordPress theme. I decided to install WP-Twitip-ID which adds a form field to your comments template, stores the twitter id that is entered and then displays the corresponding twitter ID within the comments.
