How Long Does It Actually Take To Rank in Google?

Every website owner or business knows that getting to the top of Google search is no easy feat. Do you know how long it actually takes to rank in Google? There are many factors to consider, such as website authority and competition, which means there is no one-size-fits-all answer.

However, thanks to a study carried out by Ahrefs, we were able to get a more concrete answer than “it depends”.

The study first looked at the age of the top-ranking pages by taking 2 million random keywords and pulling data on the Top 10 ranking pages for each of them. As it turned out, the average Top 10 ranking page is 2+ years old.  Those that rank at number one position is almost 3 years old on average.
