Welcome to WOW Weekly.TalkTalk made big news last week when a massive cyber attack compromised the details of all it’s customers. TalkTalk have since announced the attack wasn’t as bad as first feared but will this be enough for the customers that want out! From Warty Warthog to Wily Werewolf Ubuntu is 11 years old! Welcome to this week’s edition of WOW weekly, featuring LogMeIn, Apple, the number 7 and a Microsoft trade-in! This particular edition should be renamed to fortnightly as last week I devoted time to having a good clear out (home wise) and spending time with my children during the first week of their school holidays. I also managed to upgrade to El Capitan which was well worth the upgrade! Sadly I’ve given up trying to install Windows 10 on my aging 5-year-old laptop.

Over 1000 sites have been analyzed over the past 3.5 years are part of the dark web which is not indexed by standard search engines. 50 are in the business of distributing pirated releases.

Welcome to WOW Weekly. It’s been a busy week in the world of technology with Apple making some expected and rather unexpected iPad announcements at their keynote special event. Microsoft have also been busy after officially announcing the release date of their popular office software. Also checkout the Tool of the Week and New releases in brief.

Welcome to this weeks edition of WOW Weekly. Apple were brought back down to earth this week after hackers tricked developers into downloading a modified version of Xcode (XcodeGhost) which was used to create the iOS apps. Apple ended on a high releasing the iPhone 6s to the public and pushed out a minor update to their latest iOS 9. Gnome has released a new version of their popular desktop and tool of the week is pretty useful if you are a blogger.

iPhone fans can get a low-cost device now, as Apple is going to launch that sooner. Some say the low-cost Smartphone would be either fully plastic body or a combo of metal and plastic. It would be a downgrade from the previous metal or glass design. DigiTimes said without mentioning the supply chain sources that the main purpose of using a plastic body in the device is to cut the manufacturing cost of the phone. However, some other sources revealed that the phone would have a mixture of plastic and metal, with internal parts visible from outside.

Expert critics are predicting that 2013 will be a very good year for laptops. It’s difficult to have the best of both worlds at once. Some laptops can be thought of as a giant, luscious, tasty chocolate cake as opposed to one bite of a pistachio macaroon. But those have their place too. These are some of the laptops we’re most excited about in 2013.

Back in January I renewed my mobile contract and got a HTC Desire HD smartphone with the android operating system. I love everything about it apart from the slightly poor battery life which is probably not helped with my Wifi being constantly on but hey I spend all my spare time on my computer so I can quickly charge it up. I do like Apple products but there is one thing that Android does better.
